A Trustworthy Building Energy Management System to Enable Direct IoT Devices’ Participation in Demand Response Programs

Nowadays, internet of things devices are becoming more prominent since they can integrate energy management systems. However, data sharing between end-users and other external entities is a concern that must be addressed to ensure privacy. Given the above, this paper proposes trustworthy system for communities enable direct devices’ participation in demand response programs at community level. This solution based on building framework considers signed tokens maintain end-user privacy manage access. Likewise, plan future events balance consumption generation, using device’s flexibility. The results demonstrated planned event one hour efficiently balanced resources, enabling reduction approximately 2.8 kWh. Thus, proposed allows safeguarding ownership rights while managing resources.
